Trends, Seasonal Variations, and Analysis of High-elevation Surface Nitric Acid, Ozone, and Hydrogen Peroxide

Atmospheric photochemical oxidants nitric acid, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide were monitored in ambient air at Mt Mitchell State Park, North Carolina. Ozone measurements made from May to September during 1986-1990 are reported for two high-elevation sites (Site I on Mt Gibbs, approximately 2006 m; and Site 2 on Commissary Ridge, approximately 1760 m). These measurements are also compared to thos...

The Role of signaling of hydrogen peroxide and 24-epibrassinosteroid on physiological traits of cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) under drought stress

Two biochemical compounds of hydrogen peroxide and 24-epibrassinosteroid have significant biological effects on plant growth. In the present study, the effects of drought and its interaction with H2O2 and 24-epibrassinosteroid on the protein, sugars, essential oil percentage, photosynthetic pigments, phenols and flavonoids were investigated. For this purpose, a factorial experiment in a complet...

Application of response surface methodology to optimize the ultraviolet/hydrogen peroxide process for the removal of Reactive Red 195 dye from aqueous solution

Background and Objective: The most used dyes in textile industries are Azo Group dyes. Azo dyes have complex aromatic compounds, low chemical and biodegradable stability. Due to these properties, treatment of this type of wastewater by conventional methods will not meet environmental standards. The advanced oxidation process has been widely used to treat organic matter from wastewater. In this ...

Biosynthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Leaves of Acacia Melanoxylon and their Application as Dopamine and Hydrogen Peroxide Sensors

In this work, we described a cost-effective and environmentally friendly technique for green synthesis of colloidal silver nanoparticles from aqueous extract of fresh leaves of Acacia melanoxylon and its application as a dopamine and hydrogen peroxide sensor. The prepared silver nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron mi...

Physiological and phytochemical changes induced by seed pretreatment with hydrogen peroxide in Artemisia sieberi under salt stress.

Seeds of medicinal plant Artemisia sieberi were pretreated with H2O2 (0, 10, 50, 90, and 140 µM) and grown in saline condition (0 and 150 mM NaCl) for one month. Phytochemical properties such as antioxidant capacity and also salt tolerance in the plans arising from H2O2 pretreated seeds under salt stress were examined. Results showed a decrease in H2O2 and malondialdehyde concentrations in the ...
